to improve the scientific knowledge of the inter-relations between Biodiversity and Ecosystem Servicesnsubjected to environmental gradients, and anthropogenic and climate change forcing, in the key marine coastalnecosystems of the targeted marine regions through the review of existing knowledge and the identification of knowledgengaps to be filled by the acquisition of new data through experimental approaches and the use of new methodologies.

To reinforce the ecosystem risk concept to efficiently implement ecosystem-based assessment andnmanagement measures allowing to better face cumulative impacts arising from the complex interplay between climatenchange and human-induced pressures.

To compare and validate existing long-term solutions supported or inspired by nature to cope withnclimate change threats on relevant marine coastal ecosystems, from a local to a broader marine ecoregion scale coveringnmultiple governance systems.

To implement a strong Science-Society-Policy framework and provide guidelines to policymakers tonmake nature-based solutions effective.

To foster cross-project collaboration and intergovernmental organisations cooperation and disseminatenMaCoBioS outcomes to different target audiences, through the implementation of a toolbox for scientists andnpolicymakers to ensure exploitation of the work accomplished in MaCoBioS, and through the diffusion of short videos,nreports of events, results, etc. to a broader public on various media supports.

To ensure effective coordination and management of the project and its activities in order to meet itsnobjectives in time and in a cost-effective manner.
